Silas E. Call born 1834 was married in about 1856 to Olive Moore born 17 Apr 1840. They lived in Chemung and Schuyler Counties and had three children, Elvira born February 1858 married Willard Perry and she and her descendants remained in Hornby, Ira born 1865 moved to Michigan with his father, and Olive M. born 10 October 1867. Her mother died as a result of this birth and Silas and his three children moved to Hornby where he married divorcee Lucretia Burrell, former wife of James Henry Bedient.

Olive Moore's father Alexander was an Irish immigrant who lived in Dix, Schuyler County and later moved to Michigan.

Alexander had another daughter Mary Ann who married Lucas Hawkins and also lived in Michigan. When Silas moved there in the 1870s he left little Olive to be raised by her Aunt Mary Ann who was childless.
