"Nancy Bunce, b. 23 Jun 1806, m. Martin Adsit 13 Nov 1828 in
Hornby, Steuben Co., New York, d. 28 Oct 1868 in Hornby, N.Y."His son Oscar Adsit (identified in Martin's obituary) born 1830 first appeared in the 1850 Hornby Census, family 170, with his seventeen year old wife Nancy and three month old daughter Annis, so it is likely he had not been married long. Martin was nearby, family 176, with two daughters Sophia born 1836 and Annis born 1 September 1845. In the 1860 Census Martin and Oscar were families 229 and 230. Sophia had married Franklin Carey so onle Annis was left at home.Oscar had sons John J. born 1852 and Jervis born 1856 but his daughter Annis was missing so perhaps died in the 1850s.
Nancy Bunce Adsit died in 1868. Both Martin and Oscar were missing from the 1870 Hornby Census. In 1880 census the widowed Martin was back in Hornby living with his daughter Annice who had married Charles Wesley Lee in 1871. Oscar had moved to Corning and had an additional daughter Lydia born 1863. Jervis was missing. His son John J. had married Mary J. Straubinger in 1877 and they had a son Oscar born 1879. Martin died in 1892 after five years of suffering from what was probably a stroke. The Lees were still in Hornby in 1900.
